Yeah, but you can't trust a test page to exercise everything about a
printer driver. In fact, it really only tells you that there is a
connection between your computer and the printer, and that the printer
itself works correctly. It may also tell you more if you know that
the test page hits most stuff in the driver, but as you've seen, this
isn't usually always the case. The test page would have to be written
by the printer driver folks for a full test.
