problem solved after taking couragous leap of faith - debian rules, i am so very impressed

i was out too lunch when i edited the apt-get sources file (not a task i would recomend to a newbie in retrospect), yes, the word stable should have been woody, and i restarted dselect and voila, i got lyx - the original goal, and about 100 package updates, i was nervous when i saw all the updates, but so far no problems and i am messing with lyx

no wonder dselect was giving me such a hard time, now - especially at this hour i wonder
what other wonders have appeared in the dselect marvel dd
