Indeed they are, albeit incorrectly! See below!

All that /var/log/mail.log reveals is that I am in fact correctly
logging into and out from the imaps service, along with a couple
errors from when I was debugging the connection.

I destroyed them and now the situation has improved, somewhat. I can
now access the *new* messages in a folder, but not the saved ones. I'm
beginning to suspect that my migration from mh to maildir was not as
successful as I might have hoped, and that some formail hacking is in
my near future. uw-imapd is not especially generous with the debugging
information.
