I managed to get the installer to at least start up by installing libg++ 2.8.1 and doing a `ln -s libg++-3-libc6.1-2-2.8.1.3.so libg++.so.2.7.2`. So far, this seems to be working, but I can't help feeling like I've set myself up for big trouble somewhere down the road. Have I? Or (in this particular case) is it safe to lie to ld.so about the library's version?
