I've seen folks deride the use of
alias rm 'rm -i'
because it encourages sloppy thinking, and that one time when
you're logged in from somewhere unusual and you don't actually
have that alias available POOF you'll zap more than you expect
(because there'll actually be no '-i' supplied to the command)...
If that is the case, then why not
mv /bin/rm /bin/e-rad-i-cate
since 'rm' is sooo easy to type, sooo easy to run, sooo easy to
zap files unintentionally? a longer name would make such mistakes
harder to make.
