there was a thread in December centered around a similar problem:

the result of the communication continued privately was that there
was a file /usr/lib/perl5/Data/Dumper.pm (probably from an older
version of perl) that should not have been there...
If you also do have that file, try moving it away temporarily and see
if it works then.
