Just make sure your kernel is located somewhere on the first 8GB of the
disk. If your disk is split into multiple partitions (which at that size
it ought to be) just make sure your root partition is entirely within the
first 8GB. If not then you may get bitten sooner or later. :}
As far as I know, LILO still uses the BIOS to access the disk. The kernel
does not. So if your BIOS cannot see the whole disk, you can still use it
with Linux but LILO will not work if the kernel moves out of the 'visible'
area.
