Well, I have bmptoppm proggie... then I have ppmtopgm... and then
pgmtopbm. So your script will look something like:
bmptoppm file.ppm | ppmtopgm | pgmtopbm > file.pbm
I don't know *for sure* which package those tools came with, but I
think it must be one (or both) of the following:
