Serial conn. to WIN (success with slip!):next steps

Hello!!!

Forget about all recent mails from me: I have succeeded now making a slip
connection!!! Yes, I only had no getty running for the ttyS1 port, and now
all seems fine. I'm using diplogini over the windows dialup terminal, which
tells me the IP addr. is 172.17.0.0. I think I configured Linux to have
172.16.0.0.

Now, I have the next problem: From the linux box, I can ping both adresses
(172.17.0.0 and 172.16.0.0) successfully. But from the win box, I cannot
ping the Linux box. Don't really know why. The ifconfig shows me the slip
config with "inet addr:172.16.0.0 P-t-P:172.17.0.0". What does this mean and
what can I be doing from? I think, WIN simply wants to know the route to the
Linux box. Well' I'll try.

If you've got some suggestions about this issue, please send me a mail.

Thanks for all the help, Kind Regards,

Stephan Hachinger
