Use the 'locate' command. The command 'updatedb' is run by cron at some
early hour each morning, which updates the 'locate database'. Then, if
you want to find any file ending in .conf, just run 'locate .conf'. Or,
if you're looking for the http.conf, 'locate http.conf'. If the files
were created more recently than the last updatedb command, you can run
updatedb manually as root.
