   Well, the mouse works fine under dos on the same computer, so that would
put off your suggestion. Nevertheless, I've checked, and the cabling was
fine. It seems that the mouse driver I'm using is not happy about the
set-up. Neither XF86Setup nor gpm are happy with the arrangement. And I have
work to finish on X --gloom-- ;/
