I am using non-debianized _libc6 (aka glibc)_ version of netscape4.5 with slink debian without this problem. I think the package you need woud be xpm4g (which 
is libc6 based) and _not_ xpm4.7 (which is libc5 based). My libXpm.so.4 is part
of the xpm4g package.
