I.m not sure about 98 version, but mine is plain old Xpert@work and I use
following (and am happy with results):
	Identifier  "ATI Xpert@Work, 3D Rage Pro"
	VendorName  "Unknown"
	BoardName   "Unknown"
	#VideoRam    4096
