There is only a *read-only* driver, IIRC.
What you should do is boot from the rescue disk or install CD, *don't*
initialise any partitions, but mount the Linux disk. Press Alt-F2 and
Enter and edit the files from there (or just move it out of the way).

Edit /etc/X11/config and change "no-start-xdm" to "start-xdm".
P.S. Could you try to get your post wrapped properly next time? Leave
off the v-card thing too, please.
