libc5 & libc6 conflit !!!!!!!!!!!!! #

I did not succeeded upgrading my perl 4.003
that comes with my debian 1.3.0 to a .tgz
perl4.004.
When I start the set up with Configure -d the
set up program stops complaining an error:
-----------------------------------------------------
        cc -O2 -Dbool=char -DHAS_BOOL -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib
-o try try.c -lnsl -lndbm -lgdbm -ldbm -ldb -ldl -lm -lc -lcrypt
        ./try

and I got the following output:

ld: error: libc.so.6, needed by /lib/libnsl.so, conflicts with libc.so.5
I can't compile the test program.
