Re: How to compile kernel with debian?
Hi,
*MY* approach is (I think) slightly different. I do not use the
kernel-pkg because I think it is a little complicated to create
a kernel package and then reinstall it. What I did was to grab
the kernel source (linux-2.0.xx.tar.gz) and untared it under
/usr/src. I created a symlink from linux-2.0.xx to linux. Then
"cd /usr/src/linux" and "make config; make dep; make clean;
make zlilo; make modules; make modules_install". That's all.
I do not complicate my existence with make-kpkg.
Remember that this is my approach and perhaps is not the Debian way.
But for me it has worked just fine.
