It looks like none of the files from the package (except the dpkg 'control' files) got installed. Then just edit the file /var/lig/dpkg/info/kernel-source-1.99.7.postinst so that it reads like this: #!/bin/sh exit 0 Then do "dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq kernel-source-1.99.7" again and it should work this time. After that you can remove the .linux-versions file by hand (assuming you don't have any other kernel-source packages installed). Christian
