Conectarse con PPP



Luego de lograr solucionar un grave problema en mi debian, me quedó
sin internet por problemas en la zona. Obviamente, lo primero que hago
es intentar conectarme por teléfono, pero no descubro como configurar
(o instalar) mi modem para usarlo con KPPP o Gnome-PPP.
Cuando intento con KPPP, no se cual es el dispositivo correcto que
tengo que seleccionar. Como nunca se me había dado por usar un
modem/fax en debian, no tengo la mas pálida idé de donde empezar.
Adjunto la salida de dmesg para ver si alguien descubre cual es el
dispositivo de mi modem.
Tambien, según un sistema no muy confiable de una empresa llamada
Microsoft, la ubicación del modem es:

BUS PCI 0, DISPOSITIVO 17, FUNCIÓN 6



Se que tengo que dar mas datos, pero no tengo forma de conectarme
desde Debian para enviar todos los datos necesarios, e ir haciendo las
pruebas.
Cualquier cosa que necesiten, me piden. Que sea lo mas específico
posible porque para cualquier cosa tengo que reiniciar a Debian,
probar lo que me pidan, anotar todo, volver a reiniciar a Windows (que
creanme que tarda) conectarme de nuevo y la peor parte de todas, que
es tratar de adivinar que significaba cada abreviatura que usé.

Leyendo un poco, llego a la (probablemente correcta) conclusión de que
el problema es que no sé que dispositivo es mi modem.
Dicen que generalmente es /dev/ttyS0. Pero con este y con otros
dispositivos el kppp me pone "modem busy" o algo de eso...


Saludos, y espero que me sepan ayudar porque es ¿¿SO?? es odioso (no
tengo mi cliente de correo, mi super navegador lleno de extensiones,
mis juegos, mi velocidad ni mi preciada estabilidad)
