Und um dem noch das Sahnehäubchen aufzusetzen kann ich nur:

empfehlen. Einmal den Kernel(.org) mit dem patch von http://bootsplash.org
patchen, dann diese Einstellungen:
1. Device Drivers/Block Devices/RAM Disk Support
2. Device Drivers/Block Devices/RAM Disk Support/Initial RAM Disk Support
3. Device Drivers/Graphics Support/Bootsplash Configuration/Bootup Splash
Screen
Übernehmen, anschließend compilieren und bootsplash installieren. (Hinweis:
man muss nicht mit --initrd kompilieren, die ramdisk wird von bootsplash
gestellt)

PS: Warum ist boosplash eigentlich kein offizielles Paket?
