acrobat reader druckt nicht!

Hallo! 

Ich habe das Problem, daß acrobat bei mir nicht druckt. Und zwar geht
es um verschieden Dokumente u.a. von IBM

wenn ich in eine Datei Drucke und diese mit gv aufrufe bekomme ich
folgende Meldung:

Logischerweise liefert gimp den gleichen Fehler. Auch xpdf kann die
Datein nicht anzeigen. Größtenteils zeigt xpdf anstelle der fonts
merkwürdige Zeichen. Fehlt mir hier irgendetwas? Oder kann man die
Dateien unter Linux einfach nicht lesen?
