Definitely. Have you *ever* tried a merge of two branches in
subversion? I tried, it was only tears and pain and at the end
manual move of every change.
In git ... well ... git merge ... and it works.

Not really. I read some quick tutorials I googled but I have
no particular recommendation, esp since I not even know anymore
which I read.
And honestly, I am far from fluent in git, but the elementary things
I know, and that is fine ;-)
