This is strange - I guess you also don't have any *.dpkg-foo files in
that directory?  Could you please send the changed files?

Hm, do you think that makes sense at this point?  This affects only
unstable users, and I fear we won't make an upload of that source
package soon - by the time that message is displayed, won't most people
have already encountered the problem?
