You are welcome to do it. All of us = Debian teTeX and TeX live
maintainers - are definitely at the limit of resources.

In fact at the beginning of teh TeX live for Debian discussion I
proposed to build for every tpm (what is more or less a package as on
CTAN) one single Debian package. This would have created the slightly
too big number of several thousands of new packages ;-)

In general I am against packaging every singel package, there are just
too many. For big ones it is ok (musixtex, latex-cjk, etc) but otherwise
(packages with 1 sty file and basta) it is overkill.
