Thank you for your investigation !
As it's not specific to my printer, I guess that update will come soon (my supposition is that many people use the pipe whereas very few use lbp8). It also depends if it's package configuration issue or new gs source code issue.

                         The README file said
              "Requires Windows 95, NT 4.0, or better."
                    So... I installed it on Linux!
