One of my SMP systems was having a terrible time accessing its SCSI card.
It was crashing 3 or 4 times per week.

I switched to 2.1.125 and immediately the problems disappeared.

In general, SMP systems seem to run much more reliably with 2.1 kernels.
I strongly recommend it.
