I remember that I ran 2.6.x on my SS20 (one cpu only) but went back to 2.4.xx 
to also use the second cpu.

That's about memory requirements, my SS20 has 512MB RAM (I really hope that 
this is sufficient ;)

What's in the initrd that it requires >48MB? Should be only core stuff for 
booting (accessing hard drive or net), nothing else.
