This whole part of the installer works differently from any I've
encountered before, especially anything from Debian. I found it fairly
un-intuitive, but then I figured that is because it is the victim of
folkes trying to make it simple and intuitive. Which is great if it is,
for newbies and whatnot, but as an experienced user, I was confused. It
took me several trial and error attempts to figure out what it wanted
and where, and only then would it not loop back to the beginning of the
paritition disks screen. You have to enter into it, using it's special
methods, where root will be mounted, and /boot if you're going to do
that, and swap and like that. Which is sorta separate from the
partitioning, but sorta not. My advice: read every word on the screen
very carefully, and figure out how to use the input methods to get the
right thing in the right place.
Good luck,
