I'm running 2.6.4 on my Ultra10:

Linux blue 2.6.4 #1 Fri Mar 19 14:26:09 CET 2004 sparc64 GNU/Linux

I compiled my own kernel ('sparc64 make-kpkg kernel_image' or something
like that). I think I also get the whitespaces, but it doesn't seem to
matter; the machine continues booting after spitting out all these
spaces. I login with ssh, and only use the serial console when something
is wrong (such as boot problems etc.).

If you want me to, I can email you my kernel config file and a list of
installed deb packages.
