Re: Initial install problem



Hi, I'm new to this list.. I've been spying on you
all from news. The mail to news gateway seems to
be one way, sfaics, so I don't think my postings to
news:linux.debian.ports.sparc ever made it to the
maillist (no great loss to anyone :)

I'm a sparc newbie, but fd1 according to standard linux device naming 
refers to the second floppy (fd1).. fd0 is the first floppy. It's a stab 
in the dark, but do you actually have two floppy drives? If not, maybe 
you could try 

linux root=/dev/fd0

floppies don't have partitions so the :01 section of 02:01 is irrelevant.
