Initial install problem

Hi,

Sorry if this question is a FAQ, I have tried searching with google and
in the archives for an answer, but havent yet come across a solution yet
for me.

I am trying to install debian on an Ultrasparc-II using boot floppies,
but keep getting an error when trying to load the root image.

I load the rescue disk, it boots fine until I get too

VFS: Insert root floppy disk to be loaded into RAM disk and press ENTER

I insert the root floppy and press enter, it then gives me

VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER

I check that the disk is infact in and press enter again when it gives
me

VFS: Cannopt open root device "fd1" or 02:01
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS Unable to mount root fs on 02:01

This is my first experience with a sparc machine, so have been thrown
into the deep end with this. Any suggestions on where I am going wrong,
or links to the answers would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Jeremy Brooking
