I think from memory that the floppy drive in Ultra1's doesn't
work. This might have been more recently fixed though.
I have an Ultra 1 at home and it runs 'unstable' fine with 2.4.18.
I've had problems with lots of kernels between 2.4.5 and 2.4.18 on
my Ultra 1 (mostly the network issues in previous threads, a
couple of kernels actually crashed) but those revisions listed above
seem to work ok. Which kernel are you attempting to boot ?
