I think you might be having two problems... And I'm guessing you
don't start with disconnecting the monitor, as you write, but
you start with disconnecting the keyboard?
1) How do you know it doesn't come up? You know the sun stuff
with attaching input/output to serial port 'A' when keyboard is
not attached, shutting down display totally, do you?
2) That also means that the standard inittab will not work very
well if keyboard is detached, and eventually the machine will
hang. Comment out gettys (in /etc/inittab) on runlevel 1-6,
and uncomment the T0 entry, for a serial console in 9600 baud
on ttyS0.
