You might want to use version 2.0 of elftoaout. I ftp'ed it from
sunsite.mff.cuni.cz and stuck it in
vger.rutgers.edu:/pub/linux/Sparc/tools.

The newer version supports 64bit binaries as well so it can handle
UltraSparc stuff.
