Use tools to do it. decopy, debmake, etc. Not need to use it manually.

I don't agree with you. Your folder are almost equal that my boost installation.
IMHO It's not a good idea to use custom versions of Boost.

Package it!!! Another users will benefit of it. Don't worry, it's an interesting
package and the Debian Science team will help you.
