But when we put in libboost-python-dev as build-dep and use dh_shlibdeps it
should fill in the right dependency to the package or am I misunderstanding
something?

I guess so. Could be also possible that they've changed something. I'm not sure
if they will be interested to commit their changes back to the upstream.
We could just link the symbols statically into our python-extensions
for clipper, ann and cbflib. I remembered last year that I was able to solve
some of the problems for "Ann" and "Clipper" but I wasn't able to use cbflib.
At least they removed antlr3c so we have one less to worry about ;).
I'll give my best to make it work somehow :).
