I think this is well worth mentioning on Debian Project News - and
doing so would increase the profile of debian-science too (which
can be no bad thing).

Sure, once I consider it ready I'll do so.  I have some further plans for
Implementation (links from the tasks pages with a flag for the relevance
of the bugs if there are any), some formating issues, i18n and verifying
the correctness.  So please just use it as a simple hint for the current
QA work - the announcement of the tool will be done later, once it is
installed as a cron job.  In the current state it will be out of date really
soon.

PS: Chris, you sended me a mail in private which most probably should
    have gone to debian-science.  At least I have no time to care for
    these bugs for now.
