Да, именно так они обосновали свою блокировку, мол спама много.
У меня, кстати, в связи с этим вопрос. Я несколько раз на протяжении
нескольких лет пытался безуспешно зарегистрироваться в
Дебиан-вики. Раньше была какая-то другая ошибка, уж не припомню какая.
Там вообще возможно зарегистрироваться или это только для разработчиков?
Я написал им ответ, который цитирую ниже. Если они не
уберут свой скрипт, то подниму тему уже в публичном списке рассылки.
I registered my domain s73.work at 2016 and since that time I
am using email address sena at s73.work. I do not remember single
problem with registration anywhere, except the Debian wiki. I bought
that domain for private usage for 10 years, because it was cheap,
comparing to .com. I am running my own mail server, web-site, XMPP and
other services using Debian. I want to register at wiki.debian already
several times because many wiki.debian pages are unfortunately outdated
and I want to update them.
Sure, I want to keep using my own subdomain. It is fully legal and never
produced spam messages (AFAIK).
I understand that blocking segments of Internet that may produce
more spam makes your life simpler (and probably helps you to save money
and time for the free software development). Sure, I can go and
register email account at Google, but... I find it wrong. Debian was
always about the freedom. It is in public interest to have more people
running independent mail, XMPP, Diaspora etc. servers (probably using
Debian).
And it was the cheapest option for me to register subdomain at the .work
domain. The price is critical here. People running their own private
servers usually do not want to spend a lot of money on the "right"
domain registration. "right" is here in terms of Debian, unfortunately.
If, for whatever reason, you will find my arguments weak and
stramineous, then at least do not block IP addresses for a long
time, but limit blocking to hours or less.
... and please change the error message to something more meaningful,
like "You are banned because of your TLD, please contact
debian-admin@lists.debian.org if you think it is wrong".
