According to #838781, Turkey has a
significant timezone change at the
end of this month. Although both the 2016g and 2016h updates
has been in unstable and testing for a long time, these updates
not included in stable and oldstable releases yet. Also the
tzdata-java package from the same tzdata source package is not
generated in testing, and this makes it impossible to update the
package manually from testing because of missing dependency of
tzdata-java. Could you please look into this and update the
stable and oldstable repos as soon as possible?
Debian's Release Team is not responsible for the oldstable
distribution currently - you will need to contact the LTS team to
discuss that. firstname.lastname@example.org is also not a
general support list. If you want to enquire about the status of a
package in stable, contacting the package maintainer would be the
most appropriate first port of call.
tzdata 2016h has been in testing for one day and in unstable for
less than a week - that's really not "a long time". An update for
stable will be available via the stable-updates repository within
the next few days and will be announced on the
debian-stable-announce list as usual.
