Nitpicking your comments:

  #sudo debconf-get-selections > /var/backups/debconf-selections

That sudo is pretty pointless, because the redirect is performed by the
calling shell with normal privileges. "sudo sh -c '...'" or '... | sudo
tee ...' are common approaches to this.

Still, that can be fixed after sarge. Otherwise, approved.
