Actually, different gatherers in UDD consume different kind of
input. In theory one can write a gatherer which directly connect to
the database. Nevertheless IME it would make more sense to have an
organized text file available somewhere to download on the web, which
is more flexible, and less prone to temporary database failures.

.... or else we can try DDE!
