Yes, this is problematic. The question "Why not having gtk2, gnome2,
etc. modules instead of gtk, gnome & Co?" was debated on the PyGTK
mailing-list quite recently, and I haven't yet seen any convincing
reason to stay with the same names as in 1.2. But as I didn't look
myself into the source to figure out how it could be done, I am not in a
position to comment on the feasibility of such a change.
