Dear James,
In response to your email on the debian-powerpc mailing list, I briefly
tested the package. During configuration, I exited the menu as soon as
possible, however this did not seem to impair the capacity of the
program to run.
I started it with
/usr/bin/dnetc -ini /etc/distributed-net.conf -inbase /var/lib/distributed-net/buff-in -outbase /var/lib/distributed-net/buff-out
I have the same error message as the above bug report:

The program did not segfault, however it is eating 90% of my cpu. But I
remind you that I did not configure it, nor tried to understand what it
is suppose to do.
I attached a log to this bug report. I hope it can help you to decide
wether to close it or not.
