This can probably be fixed by a bit of i2c tweaking to re-enable the
external TMDS transmitter. I'll come back to you about it. On my
PowerBook5,8 (which also has an external TMDS transmitter, though on
those models it's not optional) the OF driver has apparently been
upgraded as it's properly initialized by OF. I suppose it still loses
state on suspend though, I haven't tested yet.
