Hi, I've been able to configure the following two on my powerbook 5,6: * Clone, but the external display is run at a rather low resolution * MergedFB, but again the external display is low resolution This seems to be linked to the following from my xorg log: (WW) RADEON(0): Panel size 1280x854 is derived, this may not be correct. If not, use PanelSize option to overwrite this setting (II) RADEON(0): Panel infos found from DDC detailed: 1280x854 [this is ok, internal display] (II) RADEON(0): Validating CRTC2 modes for MergedFB ------------ (II) RADEON(0): Valid Mode from Detailed timing table: 1280x1024 [...] [this is fine too] (II) RADEON(0): Modes for CRT2: ******************** (--) RADEON(0): Virtual size is 1024x768 (pitch 1024) (**) RADEON(0): *Default mode "1024x768": 78.8 MHz (scaled from 0.0 MHz), 60.1 kHz, 75.1 Hz (II) RADEON(0): Modeline "1024x768" 78.80 1024 1040 1136 1312 768 769 772 800 +hsync +vsync [... continues with lower resolutions] (II) RADEON(0): Generating MergedFB mode list (WW) RADEON(0): Mode "1280x1024" is not a supported mode for CRT2 (WW) RADEON(0): Skipping metamode "1280x854-1280x1024". Why is it not seeing the 1280x1024 resolution at this point? Obviously 1024x768 not only looks bad on my 1280x1024 flat panel but also makes it scroll around ... Is it not possible to configure a non-MergedFB Xinerama with the two radeon card ports? johannes
