Setting MAXINPUTS to 16 and recompiling does not fix the probmlem.
Disabling NoTapTyping fixes it.

This morning I also had freezes without clicking on the USB Mouse. All
freezes occured on AC power. I didn't check if it freezes on battery
power or with all USB devices detached.

This happens while running kernel 2.6.10-powerpc (Debian kernel image).
I didn't check any other kernels.

I now filed this to the debian bts. The bug report is CCed to
debian-powerpc.
