Help compiling a kernel for iMac rev B
Could anyone help me with the steps for compiling the stock 2.6.8 Debian
kernel for the powerpc (specifically a 233MHz rev B iMac)? I have been
following the instructions at http://www.desktop-linux.net/debkernel.htm
but I'm stumped by this part:
"Kernel Patches
Kernel patches are a way of updating or adding new or special features
to your kernel (ie Supermount), if you need to patch your kernel now is
the time to do so.
Use the following commands to patch the Linux kernel:
patch -p1 < /path/to/kernel/patch"
I haven't the foggiest idea *what* in the trees for kernel-patch-powerpc
and kernel-patch-debianlogo (the two patches I would like to install)
qualifies as "/path/to/kernel/patch". When I tried make-kpkg
--added-patches debianlogo,powerpc, it told me neither patch could be
installed (in the first case it was serial.diff, in the second the whole
patch just failed).
