Bah, another unrelevant set of instructions ? Just use the plain debian kernel
package i build for you and be happy.

I guess you want to apply some patches, so this is ok too, and i guess you
received help from others in this thread. Please consider that there is no
more a debian-powerpc patch as of 2.6.8-8, and that all the needed patches are
now in kernel-source-2.6.8, so you need to worry only about the debianlogo
thingy, and the patch is usually in the form of a .diff or .diff.gz file.
