Ok, I tried both of these and also using mod_timer (but setting 
rinfo->pending_pixclks_cntl to tmpPixclksCntl in addition to 
rinfo->pending_lvds_gen_cntl), none did work ("screen goes green, pink 
and all sorts of colors when shutting it down, then back to normal when
reenabling it", says my SO :-)).

Is it that bad to change LVDS_EN and LVDS_DIGON ?
