Damn.

No, not really. Could you get access to the serial log and see what is
wrong ?

Also, maybe this is simply because : 

  1) you didn't use the devfs=mount option, so the kernel doesn't find
  the initrd and fails with a 'should set init=' kind of message.

  2) you don't have the right fbdev device or something such, so you
  have no console output.

What console is this box using anyway, maybe you need some video=ofonly
or something such option ....

Wait a minute, what processor does this box have ? Is it a power3 or
power4, if so, i guess i will need to build a new kernel for this, this
is a common-powerpc processor.
