The driver seems to detect the external display correctly and seems to
think it's driving it at 1024x768. All I can say is that a similar
configuration worked fine for me for a presentation on Thursday. :) Have
you tried overriding the chip ID to something different, or not
overriding it at all with xserver-xfree86-dri-trunk 2003.10.05-2?
